We're open 10:00AM to 6:00PM
The listed artworks are available for circulation (like a book!) as one of BPL’s Unique Circulating Items. BPL patrons are able to check out a work of art from the Bexley Art Library with their BPL card for a period of 28 days. Anyone with a State of Ohio photo ID is eligible for a BPL card. A maximum fine of $600 will be incurred if the artwork is damaged or lost.
The mission of Bexley Public Library is to enlighten, engage, and inspire our community of lifelong learners. Since its founding in 1924, the library has continuously provided space to serve as an accessible art gallery. With grants from the Ohio Arts Council, Bexley Community Foundation, and the State Library of Ohio, we are proud to begin providing patrons with an opportunity to further experience art and engage in the local arts community by circulating a collection of diverse artworks patrons can check out and take home.
This collection of 15 works of art was chosen by a jury of 6 arts professionals from nearly 300 submissions to an open call for art in 2020. The jury included: Lyn Logan-Grimes, Cultural Arts Director at King Arts Complex; Corey Favor, Co-founder of Creative Control Fest & Community Engagement and Strategic Partnerships Director at Orange Barrel Media; Cat Sheridan, Riffe Gallery Director, Ohio Arts Council; Debbie Brannigan, Bexley Public Library Gallery Coordinator; David Gentilini, Director of the Schumacher Gallery, Capital University; Ben Heckman, Director, Bexley Public Library.
The Bexley Art Library is not accepting submissions at this time.
