Poet Bios:
Mimi Chenfeld was born and raised in New York City. Mimi Brodsky Chenfeld has been teaching people of all ages and backgrounds for her whole teaching life—through programs such as Headstart and Upward Bound—from early childhood programs to senior communities, from prisons to hospitals, elementary schools, high schools, and higher education institutions. She has presented programs in creative education in 45 states, Puerto Rico, Canada, and Great Britain. She has written numerous poems, stories, articles, and books. Her children’s novel, The House At 12 Rose Street, was adapted for a TV special and nominated for an Emmy. Her education books include such titles as Teaching in the Key of Life, Teaching By Heart, Celebrating Young Children and Their Teachers, Creative Experiences For Young Children, Teaching Language Arts Creatively, and Still Teaching In The Key of Life. She writes a regular column for Columbus Parent Magazine. One of Mimi’s favorite quotes is “nothing without joy” (Reggio Emilia).
Fred Andrle’s current book is Rocking in the Cradle of the Moment a collection of haiku, senryu, and short poems (XOXOX Press, Gambier, Ohio, 2019). His previous books include Love Life and What Counts (XOXOX). A selection of Fred’s poetry is available at fredandrle.com. Fred was Executive Producer and Host of “Open Line,” a daily public affairs talk show on WOSU. He retired in May, 2009, after 20 years hosting the program. Fred is co-director of Hospital Poets, an organization that sponsors poetry presentations at OSU’s Wexner Medical Center and other hospitals.
Jerry Roscoe is the author of three collections of poetry: Mirror Lake, The Unexamined Life, and Solving for X. Jerry Roscoe has won an Ohioana Book Award, two Individual Artist Fellowships from the Ohio Arts Council and has had his poems read by Garrison Keillor on "The Writer's Almanac." For ten years he was poetry reviewer for The Columbus Dispatch.
Rose Smith's work has appeared in The Examined Life, Pirene’s Fountain, Snapdragon, Blood and Thunder, Minola Review, and other journals and anthologies. She is author of four chapbooks, most recently Holes in My Teeth (Kattywompus Press, 2016). Her collection, Unearthing Ida, won the 2018 Lyrebird Prize from Glass Lyre Press. She is a Senior Editor with Pudding Magazine and is a Cave Canem Fellow.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
