Local author Sarah Gormley visits the Bexley Public Library to celebrate the paperback release of her book, The Order of Things: A Memoir About Chasing Joy. Regan Walsh will moderate the discussion.
Join us for a night of literary discussion as local author and gallery owner Sarah Gormley celebrates the paperback release of her book The Order of Things: A Memoir About Chasing Joy. About the book, Kirkus Review wrote, "A distinctive voice delivers an entertaining and insightful look at family and mental health." Ultimately, Gormley's book is about hope, with a powerful message that will inspire you to think about the possibility of change in your own life.
Sarah will share passages from the book and discuss the creative process of writing her memoir, expertly crafted with a "keen eye and quick wit" (Kirkus). Sarah will be joined by Regan Walsh, motivational speaker and author of Heart Boss, for this discussion.
About the Author:
Sarah Gormley owns a contemporary art gallery, Sarah Gormley Gallery (SGG), in Columbus, Ohio that operates from the belief that original art can be a source of joy for everyone. She opened the gallery in 2019, 25 years after her grandmother gifted Sarah with her first piece of art when she graduated from DePauw University. Sarah’s undergraduate degree reinforced an early love for literature and writing, with a heavy sprinkling of the liberal arts fairy dust that teaches you how to think, analyze and articulate a clear point of view. The Order of Things is Sarah's first book.

Regan Walsh is a Columbus native and author of Heart Boss, a self-help book for women who are carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders—their careers, their families, their aging parents, all of the things! She is a motivational speaker, and the leader of an executive women’s networking group called The Leadership Circle. In her spare time, you can find her baking Sarah Gormley’s Martha Stewart Fired Me Cookies —and she encourages you to do the same.

Bexley Public Library was founded in 1924 and first housed in Bexley High School, now Montrose Elementary School. The present building opened in 1929 and was designed by architects O.C. Miller and R.R. Reeves who drew upon French and Italian architecture from the 17th century for the design.
The library is located at 2411 East Main Street, at the intersection of East Main Street and Cassady Avenue. Parking is available in our parking lot on Euclaire Avenue and in front of the library on Main Street. Main Street is a No Parking Tow Zone from 4:00-6:00 p.m. weekdays.
