Maya Lin and the Vietnam Veterans Memorial

Designed by Maya Lin, a native of Athens, Ohio, the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. has become one of the most well-known monuments in the nation because of its stark shape, dark color and emotional impact. Ann Shifflet, Adjunct Instructor at the Columbus College of Art and Design, will discuss the memorial and the additional sculptures that were added after Lin's work was installed. She will also analyze some of Lin's other public works and why her designs were so controversial.
